What to Expect on Installation Day

Guide

What to expect on installation day

From the moment the van arrives to the handover walkthrough at the end. No guesswork, no nasty surprises.

The day itself

How the day runs

1

Arrival & access

Turn up on time, do a quick walkthrough of access points and the work area. Drop sheets go down before anything else. The job starts without fuss.

2

Old boiler out

Isolate the gas, drain the circuit and remove the old boiler and associated controls. The flue hole is sealed if the new boiler uses a different route. Old kit is taken away.

3

New boiler fitted

New boiler mounted and connected to gas, water and electrics. Pipework tidied where needed. Magnetic filter fitted inline. Everything pressure-tested before the gas is turned back on.

4

Commissioning & handover

Boiler fired up, combustion checked, all radiators tested, controls set up and explained. Gas Safe commissioning paperwork is completed and the warranty is registered before we leave.

Before the engineer arrives

What to have ready

  • Clear access to the boiler and stop taps
  • Parking confirmed outside or nearby
  • Pets kept out of the work area for the day
  • A responsible adult at home throughout
  • Any paperwork from the old boiler if you have it
  • Access to loft, airing cupboard or meter if relevant

What you leave with

📋

Gas Safe commissioning certificate

All gas work is registered with Gas Safe. You receive a copy of the commissioning certificate for your records.

📜

Warranty registered

The manufacturer warranty is registered before leaving. Most brands require this to validate the full term — done on the day, not left for you to chase.

📱

Controls explained

The controls, programmer and thermostat are walked through before the job is signed off. Questions later? Message directly.

🔢

Tidy finish

Drop sheets removed, work areas cleaned up, waste taken away. The property is left as it was found, minus the old boiler.
